And fixed!!
When we first looked at the carpet we were going to have her pick out a new carpet. She loved this so much that she really wanted to avoid doing that. Problem solved!

Carpet problems...
Carpet has problems here and there like everything else. Nobody likes it, but that doesn't stop it from happening. This carpet has a side match meaning the color changes a little through the roll of the carpet. The problem that this causes is when you seam the carpet together, there is a noticeable difference in the color. The way that you can fix this is by using a serpentine seam and cutting the carpet from the same side of the roll.

I would like to install a newer carpet that is really soft. I love having a good place for kids to play in. I also like my naps on the floor when watching a movie.

I had no idea that the color would change in a roll of carpet. It is good to see what carpet can look like and should look like. How did you fix the carpet?

we had to use a serpentine seam. It creates a seam with out a straight line. This type of seam we use on side matches and some looped carpet to prevent ' lines' from showing. Usually a straight seam is perfectly fine.

Also if you are looking at cleaning your carpet, I would check out the Shaw Stain center. They have a smart phone app. that you can use to look up all sorts of stains that you may have in your carpet. Because the line in the carpet was caused by a problem from the mill it could not be cleaned out. Normally the carpet would be sent back but being that the customers were older it was more convenient for them to fix the side match.
