Congratulations on the purchase of your new home! All of us at Johnsons Carpet want you to feel welcome in our community. But just in case you are not in the market for carpet we thought we would give you some tips for you to help maintain the flooring that you have currently. These tips will help the longevity of your flooring.

If you have an accidental stain that occurs,
there is a great app for your smart phone called “Shaw Stain Center” it is free and easy to use. It has cleaning tips for all types of stains
from blood to makeup.

To keep your carpet looking nice, we suggest wearing socks inside your home. The oils that are on your bare feet are very
hard on your carpet. These oils will
cause you to have dark trails on your traffic areas, the oils attract and
collect the dirt. The example that I like to use is flip flops, you get home
and the bottom of your feet are filthy.
After taking off your shoes and walking on you carpet for a bit, your
feet have become clean.

Vacuuming habits are really important. The
manufacturers usually recommend vacuuming your carpet once a week per person/
animal that is living in the home. For example if you have 4 people living
in the home, 1 dog, and 1 cat you should vacuuming your home 6 times per
week. This helps keep your carpet clean
and standing for a longer amount of time.

Getting your carpet STEAM cleaned by a licensed professional is something that should
be done once per year. Not only does
this help maintain the warranty of your carpet, it also keeps your carpet
looking nice and clean.
