Work in progress

As the time came to replace our old flooring with something new and different and durable.  Obviously being around flooring pretty much all the time, we had to make it more complex. But the look that was achieved was well worth the wait.

The great thing about the floor is that it is not tile or wood.  It is a luxury vinyl plank.  It is so easy to maintain and very durable.  Being that it isn't tile, it isn't as cold as tile or as hard.

(Sorry I know this isn't the greatest picture)
We chose not to grout our floor to give it a stone look.  But the grout (usually a downfall, is grout because it stains, this grout doesn't stain.)  We do cabinets as well.

This is showing the transition from the kitchen to the dining room.  Being that it is all the same type flooring there is no edge or moldings.

The entry is done in wood look, as the third transition.  We had engineered wood in the entry and it was easily damaged.  This stuff is very good looking and durable.

( Just a closer look...)

To sock or not to sock?

We get couples in all the time arguing over if they should leave their shoes on in the house or take them off?  Our answer to that is yes.  Does that not answer the question? well let me explain.  Shoes on carpet isn't great, all the dirt, rocks and other things that shoes drag in is something that we don't really like on our carpet.  Bare feet on your carpet is worse... That's right, the oils on your skin is so bad for your carpet. The fibers tend to stick together when oils become present in your carpet making it look bad.  So what is the correct answer for what should you walk in on your carpet? SOCKS! Socks are the best things to walk on your carpet in, well clean socks that is.  Clean socks keep the oils out and you don't (or you mom tells you that you shouldn't) walk in them outside, so you don't have to worry about them tracking the outside stuff in.

Bathroom

When we decided to do our bathroom, before and after picts I am sure would be ideal. But we missed the before, and the after is still there so that was easy.

We picked a larger tile to make it seem that our bathroom was bigger, because we had less grout lines.  Also with less grout lines it is easier to clean and maintain. We still haven't gotten around to our shower but when we do be sure I will get before and after pictures so that you can see what an improvement it can make.

We Love It!
Feel free to comment!

Portable Stairs

A man came in with some well crafted hand made stairs ( that had no carpet) when he told us the story of who they were for he touched our hearts.  A individual who was loosing both legs needed the stairs to get into bed.  With a family and health problems and what seemed to be everything going wrong, no complaints were heard. The ability to remain positive helps everything.  Touched us here to say the least!

Laminate and Carpet Install

These are some pictures of completed jobs.
The lights in this house weren't that great, so I made the best of what I could work with.
This when we ordered it we were a little bit leery, but when it was put down it looked really good! The brick pattern really pulled the wood and the carpet together...

We tailor all our stairs (because it looks better than the waterfall look)

The carpet with the laminate in the brick pattern.

This laminate was installed, the rug (she got from us duh Ü)
I think that the rug pulls it all together.

We do Cabinets TOO!!!

And Counter tops!!
Laminate, Granite, Quarts, solid surface... pretty much all of them.

Carpet Cleaning Man

I have had it brought to my attention that people that aren't around carpet 24/7 don't really know what to do when it comes to cleaning your carpet.  Well first off steam cleaning is the only way to go. Chemicals that are used to clean carpet actually ruin your carpet, I don't care what they say. Also carpet manufactures recommend that you clean your carpet once a year if it is a nylon and twice a year if it is a polyester.  This will keep your carpet looking better longer.
If it helps, we use Signature Carpet Care -John Spears (801)557-6122 he has always treated us great and we refer him to all our customers.
Hope this helps with your questions!
