Laminate and Carpet Install

These are some pictures of completed jobs. 

The lights in this house weren't that great, so I made the best of what I could work with.

This when we ordered it we were a little bit leery, but when it was put down it looked really good! The brick pattern really pulled the wood and the carpet together...

We tailor all our stairs (because it looks better than the waterfall look)

Carpet Cleaning Man

I have had it brought to my attention that people that aren't around carpet 24/7 don't really know what to do when it comes to cleaning your carpet.  Well first off steam cleaning is the only way to go. Chemicals that are used to clean carpet actually ruin your carpet, I don't care what they say. Also carpet manufactures recommend that you clean your carpet once a year if it is a nylon and twice a year if it is a polyester.  This will keep your carpet looking better longer.

I-Phone App.

Looking on my phone and talking to friends I thought I would share an app that I have found useful for carpet stains.  It is called "Shaw Stain Center" it shows you how to find stains to remove anything from Acne medication to Yogurt.  It shows everthing on techniques on how to wipe and solutions to use.

I have found it helpful with many household "oopsies!" espically with all the animals and kids that keep going through my household! I hope you find it as useful as I. Dont hesitate to ask/ email me any questions you may have. 

Got A New Garage Door

As you can see from the pictures our garage door has seen.... better days. Drom being backed into, Hit with the fork lift and given a belly button (Donna) our poor door was nothing less than trashed.

So we had a door installed and well it looks great! No belly buttons, No dents, No bad news! We even fixed the seal and made everything look just wonderful!  Our installer did a wonderful Job!

Didnt get a finished pict... But you can see that it looks great! So when you drive by look for our new door! (if you cant tell us girls... were really excited about it!)

Us women and our makeup

Lets just admit it ... Carpet and make up dont mix well (or at least we dont want them to) but accidents happen and it becomes an eye sore.  So with ur oil based makeups there are just a few steps to follow:
1. Apply the solvent/ deturgent with a dry, white towel ir cloth (do NOT apply the solvent directly to your carpet). Blot; dont rub.
If you still cant get the stain out...
1. Scrape up or blot access.
2.Apply deturgent with a damp towel. (blot again; dont rub)
3. Apply water with a damp towel.
4. Blot; finish with a weighted pad of towels.

Before starting...
When I say blot - Press straight down with a pad of clean white paper towels -Never Rub- ( the rubbing will alter the carpet textures, and can possiably spread the mess.

Urine off

Alright... so as sad as it is to say. some very unplesant things come in contact with your carpet. At Johnsons carpet we started to stock Urine Off. It has a weird name, yes but it does the trick. In the Johnson house hold we have 2 dogs and 1 cat. usually they are very good to go outside. But as one of the dogs (chance) reaches to be about 20 years old she started having the dreaded 'accidents'. This cleaner seemed to do the trick to get the stain out and the stink, so that is why we started to carry it!  So the dog can stay!

Candle Wax and Carpet

If you know what I am talking about, you may think that you need a rug or re arrange your room so that this new spot wont show. Well good news there is a simple solution for the problem. All you are going to need is a few things that you will already have!

*Iron
*Paper (plane white printer paper)

All you do is take the paper and place it on top of the wax spot, then Iron on the paper and the wax will melt onto the paper. 
Be sure that you are being careful because the iron can melt your carpet like it can melt/ burn clothes. So make sure that you are moving the iron continously to avoid damage to the carpet.

Hey everybody! we are starting a new blog for Johnsons carpet. We are hoping to help out with home renovation ideas and take picts of some of the jobs that we do. But just because carpet is in the name dont think that is all we do! A few things that we do are Carpet, Vinyl, Laminate, Tile, Cabinets, All sorts of countertops (granite, formica, corrian, ect.), blinds, and shutters!
